Don't waste money on poor quality Life Jackets. A friend of mine in PNG had a boating accident a number of years ago, which resulted in 4 persons being afloat in the open ocean wearing cheap, ill-fitting life jackets for 19 hours before rescue. When found, all the men had severe skin and flesh loss from around the chest and under the arms and back of the neck because of the poor quality, ill-fitting life jackets. My friend John's comment (apart form being happy about being rescued), was that how many times during that 19 hour ordeal he wished he had spent a few dollars more and purchased decent quality PFD1's for his boat.
