Red LED's are particularly suited as down lights in the fishing area to light up the interior of the boat while fishing. RED light does not destroy your night vision... So, in looking from outside in the dark to inside the cockpit to view fishing gear or engne controls then outside the boat again you experience no loss of night vision. Great safety tip.....
